Richard "Dick" Szatkowski , 91, passed away Wednesday April 10, 2024 at his home in Columbus with his family by his side. Born in Philadelphia,  he had been a resident of Columbus most of his life. Dick was a graduate of Villanova University and was a Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War. He retired from the State of New Jersey working with the Division of Taxation. He loved history and was a founding member of the Mansfield Township Historic Society. Dick enjoyed working in his garden, was a history buff and was an avid reader. He will be deeply missed.

Predeceased by his parents Charles and Stephanie Szatkowski and his beloved wife Margaret Rose Szatkowski, he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Cynthia Szatkowski and George and Deann Szatkowski, and by his daughter, Margaret Reid. His grandchildren: Brian and wife Chrissy, Timothy, Katherine, Rebecca, Daniel Szatkowski, Stephanie and husband Steven Kreiser and Anthony and wife Courtney Reid and by his great granddaughter Layla Szatkowski. His sister Marie Sandy; brother Louis Szatkowski and sister-in-law Rose Engelhardt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Saturday April 20 at Mary, Mother of the Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 am at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Interment will follow in Columbus Cemetery, Cherry Lane, Columbus, NJ.
