Richard F. Smith, 91 of Crosswicks, NJ passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton.

Born in Crosswicks, he was a lifetime resident. A retired Supervisor from the State of New Jersey Department of Corrections, Mr. Smith was a member of the PBA Local 105 and was an associate member of the Grace AME church in Crosswicks. He was also active in the Union Fire Company and the Crosswicks Men's Club.


Mr. Smith was the son of the late Walter and Hannah Harvey Smith. He was pre-deceased by brothers, Walter and John D. Smith and sisters Helen Allen, Ruth Gadson and Alice Vaughn. He is survived by his loving wife Jean (Vaughn) Smith brothers-in-law Melvin Vaughn, Robert Vaughn, Granville Mayo and Sisters-in-law Doris(Vaughn) Beverly , Helen (Vaughn) Mayo, Mary Robinson-Vaughn as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 7th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main Street, Allentown, NJ. Interment will follow at North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Friends may call 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
