Richard S. Wright, 69, of Crosswicks, passed away Friday, February 05, 2010 with his family by his side. Born in Trenton, he was a resident of the Crosswicks area for many years. Rich was a graduate of Bordentown High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Dartmouth. He retired from Travelers Insurance Company where he was employed for 31 years. Rich was very active in the community. He was a member of many organizations and committees including the Crosswicks Fire Department, the Chesterfield Historical Society and the Crosswicks Cemetery Association. Rich was also a Trustee for the Old Yellow Meeting House and was a member of the Crosswicks Friends Meetinghouse where he was involved in several committees. Rich enjoyed gardening, and loved family vacations and sailing at LBI.
Son of the late Richard Ridgway and Margaret Ellis Wright; he was predeceased by his daughter, Sally George. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judith H. Wright; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Taylor and David Briseno of Sykesville, MD, Ellen and Matthew Maher of Clinton, NJ and Amy Wright and Ed Batista of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren, Caitlin, Cameron and Emma Taylor, Casey and Jenny Maher and Sara George; a sister and her fiancé, Anne Wright and Howard Berliant of Milwaukie, MI; a son-in-law, Ken George of Camp Hill, PA as well as many other relatives and close friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 12th at 11am at the Crosswicks Friends Meetinghouse, 15 Front St. Crosswicks. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
