Richard W. Horner, Sr., 71, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday February 20th, at the Gardens at Monroe. Born in Allentown, his was a lifetime resident and local self employed mechanic. Mr. Horner was a former member of the Hope Fire Company and the Allentown First Aid Squad. He loved to ride motorcycles and enjoyed gardening.
Son of the late Richard A. and Anna Frances Huley Horner, he was predeceased by four brothers, James, Norman ""Percy"", Lloyd ""Donald"" and Lester ""Paul"" Horner. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara ""BJ"" Horner (nee Ewart); his children, Richard Horner, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Mt. Holly, Susan Horner of Allentown, Sandy Stevens and her husband Mahlon of Allentown, Rebecca Horner of Allentown and Robert Horner and his special friend Stephanie of Yardville; grandchildren, Alex, Olivia and Mo Stevens and April, Holly and Penny Horner; his sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jerry Weaver of Bordentown; a niece Cherie Chaparro and her husband Luis of Hamilton as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday 10am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. The Rev. Horace Frantz will officiate. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
