Richard M. Conklin, 83, of Allentown, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Samaritan Hospice, Mt. Holly. Born in Mineola, NY, he resided in Englishtown for many years prior to moving to Allentown. A US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, Richard retired from the Austin Company. He was a former Cub Scout leader, had a passion for sailing and was an avid golfer, working for Charleston Springs Golf Club following his retirement. Richard was also an active member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.
Son of the late Claude and Mae Conklin, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice Conklin; his daughters and son-in-law, Deborah and Walter Hoag of Robbinsville, Jane Conklin of Robbinsville and Nancy Conklin of Howell; his granddaughter, Chloe Hoag of Robbinsville; his sister, Barbara Walsh of Hamilton and brother, Stephen Conklin of Hopewell Junction, NY as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11am on Monday, June 8th at the Allentown Presbyterian Church, 20 High St., Allentown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Youth Center, c/o Allentown Presbyterian Church, PO Box 122, Allentown, NJ 08501.
