Richard Greeley Coalter, 78, of Princeton Junction, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the University of Princeton Medical Center at Plainsboro. Born in Murray, KY, he attended Southern Methodist University and Texas A&M where he studied electrical engineering and law later earning his B.S.E.E. and J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. A US Army Veteran, Richard worked for the University of Texas in the Defense Research Labs as an electrical engineer. He went on to earn his P.E. and practiced national and international patent law for RCA and Texas Instruments and later retired as a Senior Patent Attorney for G.E. During his career, Richard was admitted to practice law in Texas, Washington D.C. and the United States Supreme Court.
Son of the late Russell O'Neal and Mildred Aileen Coalter, Richard was predeceased by his wife Diana Dale Haskinson Coalter and his nephew, Ted Richard Coalter. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and David Leiggi of Allentown; his grandsons, Devin, Dylan and Dayne Leiggi; his brother and sister-in-law, John Stanley and Patricia Coalter of Austin, TX; his sister-in-law, Sharon Chancey of Virginia Beach, VA; a special cousin, Rebecca Anne Lancia and her husband Philip of Troy, MO; his nephews and nieces, Scott Coalter and his wife Sharon, Hope Suzanne Balsanek and her husband Bill, Kyle Garner, Dana Else and her husband John, Debra Coalter, Jason Coalter and his wife Lesley, Laura Parker and her husband Chad, Jerry and Sandy Coalter, Bobby and Sandy Coalter, Brandon Coalter, Sarah Coalter and Katie Balsanek as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation with the family will be held Friday, October 23rd from 6-7:30pm with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:30 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
