Richard W. Briggs, Sr., 61, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday January 22, 2008 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Concord VT, he was a long time Trenton area resident. A US Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era, Mr. Briggs retired from American Standard, Trenton Plant after 25 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 31 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and going on cruises. He loved life and adored his grandchildren.
Son of the late Lyndell Briggs and Mary Alice Briggs Smith and step-son of the late Kingsley Smith; he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Briggs; his children, Tammy Amari and her husband Claudio and Richard W. Briggs, Jr. and his wife, Kimberly; five grandchildren, Gioacchino, Stephanie, Anthony, Austin and Brianna; mother-in-law, Ruth Krukowski; brothers, Robert, Alan and Lawrence; sisters, Alice and Betty; half brother, John and half sisters, Beverly, Darlena and Marlisa.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Interment will follow in Emley's Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Friday 6-9pm at the funeral home.
