Obituary

Reuben Thomas Avellani, 46, passed away suddenly at his residence in Beverly, New Jersey. Born in South Bend, Indiana, Reuben lived a life defined by service, generosity, and love for his family and community.

Reuben proudly served his country as a Seabee in the United States Navy. Carrying the Seabee spirit of “Can Do” throughout his life, he brought dedication, skill, and heart to everything he touched. After his military service, Reuben became known locally as a remarkably talented handyman. There was no problem too big or too small, whether repairing a roof, fixing a car, or helping a neighbor troubleshoot an unexpected household issue. If someone needed help, Reuben was there with his tools in hand and a smile on his face.

He had a rare gift not only for fixing things, but for lifting spirits. Sweet, loving, and endlessly kind, Reuben was the kind of man who gave without hesitation. He was a devoted son, a proud father, a caring brother, a fun-loving uncle, a loyal cousin, and a true friend to so many. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and reassurance to all who knew him.

Reuben is survived by his parents, Wanda and Michael Feig; his beloved daughters, Allyea Avellani and Anna Avellani; and his cherished sons, Alex Avellani and Aiden Avellani. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph Martinez Jr. of Birmingham, Michigan; Dr. Douglas Nassif and his wife Taryn of Richmond, Virginia; and Samuel Nassif of Midland, Michigan; as well as his stepbrother, Michael Feig Jr., and his stepsister, Stephanie Feig.

Reuben’s memory will live on in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family
