Raymond Ernest ""Bud"" Nelson, 83, of Bordentown, passed away Saturday, February 2nd, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Bordentown, he was a lifetime area resident. A US Army veteran, Mr. Nelson retired after 43 years of service as a locomotive engineer from the Pennsylvania Railroad.
Son of the late Raymond J. and Pearl Nelson he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph C. Nelson, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth Irene Nelson; his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Smith of Bordentown; a grandson William Shaune Kent and his wife Michelle of Bordentown; a great granddaughter, Kieran Holly Kent; a sister, Juanita Knott of Milan, New Mexico; his uncle, Robert Nelson of Bordentown; a brother-in-law, Richard Johnston of Beachwood; a special nephew, Kevin Nelson and his family Dorothy and Kody; his good friend Bill Kent; several nieces and nephews and his grand-dog Cinnamon.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday 10am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown. Interment will follow in Groveville Cemetery.
