Ramona Rue

August 15, 1936 – February 28, 2021
Ramona R. Truncer, 84, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021. Born in Trenton, she was a lifetime Allentown area resident. A 1954 graduate of Allentown High School, Ramona graduated in 1957 from the University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing with her diploma in professional nursing. She worked at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan and Princeton Hospital for many years. Ramona later attended Rutgers University, Douglass campus where she earned her degree in English Literature in 1981.
Ramona was active with her community where she volunteered for several organizations including the Allentown Library and RJW Hamilton Hospital. She was a former member of the Allentown Villagers and a longtime member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church. Ramona was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. Above all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Daughter of the late Wilbur and Eva Rue, she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Rue Mullinex. Ramona is survived by her husband of 63 years, James J. Truncer,
her son and daughter-in-law, James Joseph and Melissa Truncer of Newton, MA; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Anne and Brian Kent Watkins of Cassatt, SC; her grandchildren, Morgan and William Truncer and Seth Watkins as well as several nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Ramona's name to the Monmouth County SPCA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
