Phyllis P. Purdie, 86, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly. Born in Astoria, NY, she had lived in Union, NJ
before moving to Columbus in June of 1988. Phyllis had worked as an office manager for Port Newark Refrigeration Warehouse in Newark, NJ. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Mount Holly and was an active part of the Activities Committee of Homestead at Mansfield in Columbus, where she enjoyed sing-a-longs and line dancing.
Daughter of the late Rudolph and Marie Scavone and sister of the late Peter Scavone and Josephine Colatrella, she is survived by her beloved husband of 36 years, John "Jack" Purdie and her brother Thomas Scavone and his wife Andreen of
Martinez, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
