Patricia D. Jenkins , 91, passed away Tuesday November 19, 2024 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Trenton she had lived her entire life in Hamilton Township. She was a graduate of Hamilton West High School Class of 1952 and drove a school bus for Delaware Valley Bus Company for 11 years.
Patricia then graduated from Mercer County Vocational School of Nursing in 1976 becoming an LPN and went on to graduate from Mercer County College in 1991 to receive an associate degree. She retired with 25 years of service from Helene Fuld Hospital and then worked 15 years with other outpatient physicians. She was a member of Soroptimist International for 20 years and served as president for 5 years. Patricia enjoyed sewing and making clothes for the family and joined her business partner and sister-in-law Shirley to create homemade bunnies, snowmen and dolls which they sold under the name of "Especially For You" at craft shows around the area. She was very active, enjoyed socializing with people, loved her family and will be deeply missed.
Patricia is predeceased by her parents Raymond and Doris Newell, her beloved husband of over 72 years Melvin Jenkins, her son Gary Jenkins, her daughter Kim Summers, three grandchildren: Jayme Russo, Benjamin Moore and Taylor Summers and her brother Richard Newell. She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie and Paul Julian of Georgetown, KY and Amy and Patrick Moore of Hamilton Township and her son Gavin Jenkins also of Hamilton Township. Her sisters: Gail Brown of LBI, Christine Newell and Jim Nick of Greenwood Lake, NY and her sister-in-law Shirley Newell of Hamilton Township. Her grandchildren: Jennifer Dempster and her husband Shawn, Patrick and Marissa Moore, Paul and Kara Julian and Emma Gagnon and her husband Travis and many great grandchildren: Lucas, Bennet and Maddox Moore and Cory and Colin Dempster and great great-grandson Silas Rugg.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30 am Saturday November 30 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call on the family from 10 am until time of service. Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ.
