August 28, 1923 – July 5, 2018
Norma Bassolino, 94, passed away at home surrounded by her family Jul 6, 2018 just a few weeks short of her 95th birthday. Born in Queens, Norma lived mostly in Brooklyn and relocated to Staten Island before they came to live with their daughter Donna in Hamilton, NJ. She was mostly a homemaker but was employed for a few years at JP Morgan in NYC. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and made clothes and blankets for the kids and grandkids. After retirement, they enjoyed day trips to Atlantic City, as well as visiting family and spending time with their grandchildren who would come to stay for a month in the summer. Their secret code was sticking out their tongue and fluttering eyelashes. She also enjoyed reading and watching TV – especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved to watch her Mets and her Giants play on TV.
Norma was pre-deceased by her husband, Dominick; her seven brothers and sisters, Harry, Walter, Allen, Helen, Edna, Marion and Loretta and their spouses as well as her seven in laws, Mildred, Concetta, Elvera, Ralph, Charlie, Nick, Tony and their spouses. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna and Cliff Klimas of Hamilton and Doreen and Mike Perez of Miami Florida; six grandchildren, Michael, Cristina, Nicole and Christopher Perez of Miami and Dominick and Abigail Klimas of Hamilton, one great grandchild, Janessa, and another on the way Gianna.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Monday, July 9th at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Allentown, NJ. Friends may call Saturday, July 7 th , from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So Main St. Allentown, NJ.
