Obituary

Nancy Clawson, 88, of Allentown, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Serenity Hospice in Hamilton. Born in Ambridge, PA, she earned her Registered Nursing degree from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. A few years later, she married her husband Floyd, and they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in June. After living in Pittsburgh for a short time, Nancy and Floyd moved to Baltimore, MD. They later moved to New Jersey and eventually Allentown, where they raised their family. She was an excellent baker, took great care of her family and was a loving wife and mother to her six children.

A 60-year member of St. John the Baptist Church in Allentown, Nancy worked as a nurse for Allentown/Upper Freehold School District and later for Dr. Stephen Hefler in Princeton. Following their retirements in 1999, she and Floyd purchased a camping trailer and spent summers exploring the United States. She loved the ocean and could spend hours sitting quietly on the beach.

Daughter of the late Vera and Dr. George Foster, she was predeceased by her son, David Clawson and by three sisters, Vera Becker, Georgeann Tomana, and Mary Rose Dawson. She is survived by her loving husband, Floyd Clawson; her children, Christopher Clawson and his wife Kathleen, Lisa Fuller, Amy Kelvy, Karen D'Ornellas, and Michael Clawson; her grandchildren, Daniel and Christopher Clawson, Nicholas, Gary and his wife Kelly, Timothy, and Amy Fuller, Molly, Abby, and Lilly Kelvy, Laura and her husband Robert Auletti, and Riley D'Ornellas; her great grandchildren, Brayden and P.J. Moore, Brooke and Jack Fuller, and Olivia Auletti; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 6-8pm on Wednesday, November 20th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, November 21st at St. John the Baptist RC Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown. Interment will be private.
