Miles Mayer, 89, of Cream Ridge, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015. Born in Vandergrift, PA, he was a resident of Allentown for 60 years prior to moving to Cream Ridge. A US Army veteran, Miles retired from Colonial Cadillac as a mechanic after 30 years of service. A member of the Allentown United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of the Hope Fire Company, he was a talented woodworker and an avid fisherman. Above all, Miles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley J. Mayer; his daughters, Linda VanHandel and her fiancé David Horsnall and Pamela Strobino and her husband, David, both of Allentown; his grandchildren, Olivia and Rose VanHandel and Lauren and Zachary Strobino; a brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Iva Mayer of Cabot, PA; a nephew Thomas Forsaith as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 11am on Thursday, June 4th at the Allentown United Methodist Church, Allentown. Interment will follow in the Allentown Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown and again Thursday from 10am until the time of service at the church.
