Obituary

Michael J. Lenhardt Sr., 84, of Hamilton Square, passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Hamilton.  Born in Trenton, he was a graduate of Allentown High School.  A U. S. Army Veteran, Mike entered the service in 1951 and left active duty in October of 1953 as a 2 nd Lieutenant. He continued his military service in the Army Reserves and was Honorably Discharged in 1966 as a Captain.  While in the Reserves he attended Trenton Junior College and graduated in June of 1956.  He later attended the Newark College of Engineering where he graduated in 1959.  He was a mechanical engineer for Worthington Corp in Harrison NJ until 1969 and later retired from DeLaval in Florence in 1992 after 23 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening and watching sports.

Son of the late Frank and Anna (Maus) Lenhardt, he is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances (Mikulas) Lenhardt; his daughter, Anne and her husband Keith Porter of Edmonds, WA; four sons, Michael and his wife Lorraine, Peter and his wife Darlene, Andrew and his wife Sharon, all of Hamilton and Jim and his wife Debbie of Livermore, CA; his grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Mark Seidman, Andrea, Dan, Bill, Garry, Erik, Jakob and Meredith Lenhardt and Kevin Porter; his great grandchild, Mercer Seidman; his brother, John Lenhardt as well as many nieces and  nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30am Saturday, October 29 th at St Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Allentown.  Friends may call Friday from 7-9 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St. Allentown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St Gregory the Great Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
