Obituary

Melville Quentin Hausser, 67, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at his home in Bordentown City. Born in Allentown, NJ, he had lived in Bordentown for 63 years. He had received a Bachelors and Masters degree from Rider University, was a retired teacher of 35 years with the Ewing Township School District and was very active in the Bordentown community.

Quentin was a member of the Bordentown Shade Tree Committee for over 15 years and on the Board of Directors of the Downtown Business Association since its inception many years ago. He was also a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge # 28 F&AM of Bordentown and the Yapewi Aquatic Club in Bordentown. He was instrumental in planning and running local events such as the Bordentown Street Fair, Cranberry Festival and antique car show. He had many interests and had a passion for antiques. He collected many things such as wooden canoes, motorcycles, bicycles and antique cars to name a few .

Son of the late Melville and Helen Hausser, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Nanette V. Hausser (nee Shinn), a brother, Barry Hausser and his wife Margarite of Bordentown City, a sister-in-law, Gerrie Harrison of Bordentown, a niece Heather O'Malley and her husband Ed, a nephew, Eric Hausser, an aunt and several cousins.

An informal gathering will take place at the Yapewi Aquatic Club, on Wednesday, September 30, at 7 pm to 9 pm, in which family and friends may share their experiences with Quentin. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
