Melquiades Ramon Menchaca , 88, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his residence in Trenton, NJ. Born and raised in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he came to the US in 1955 and lived in the Bronx, NY, Newark, NJ and finally in Trenton. In the Bronx he and his family owned and operated a supermarket and in Newark and Trenton owned and operated several Grocery Stores. Melquiades worked very hard, loved his family and will be deeply missed.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Maria Leon Menchaca, he is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law: Javier and Luz Menchaca of Trenton, Raymond and Sharon Menchaca of Florida and Michael and Michele Menchaca also of Trenton. His brother Juan Antonio Menchaca of Hollywood, FL, eight grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11 am on Thursday, March 16 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Friends may join the family from 10am until the time of service.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton Township, NJ.
