Mary F. Wright, 83, died Sunday, June 10, at Virginia Beach Estates Assisted Living in Virginia Beach, VA. Born in New York City, she was a resident of West Windsor for 52 years before moving last October to Virginia Beach near her daughter.
After graduating from Washington Irving High School, NYC, Mary passed on a chance to work for the NY Yankees because she ""hated to take dictation."" She worked for Jersey Central Railroad, and later for the First National Bank of Princeton for many years.
Mary spent many lighthearted hours volunteering with the Dutch Neck Fire Company's Ladies' Auxiliary and at the West Windsor Senior Center. She enjoyed Broadway musicals and trips to Atlantic City, and loved bingo nights with her friends. She is fondly remembered for her wicked humor, her bargain shopping skills, and her â??smarts.'
Daughter of the late Anton and Catherine Mokros, and sister of the late Anthony Mokros, she was married for 42 years to the late Willard Wright Sr. She is survived by her loving family; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Stuart Pleasants of Virginia Beach; son and daughter-in-law, Willard (Wilbo) Wright Jr. and Tricia Fagan of West Windsor; two beautiful grandchildren, Kate and Jack Pleasants; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Dante of Sanford, FL and Jean Mokros of Lambertville, NJ; many nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Funeral Services will be Friday 11 a.m. at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown, NJ. Interment will follow in East Windsor Cemetery, East Windsor, NJ. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
