Mary Jane Ruffner, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Masonic Home of New Jersey with her family by her side. Born and raised in Bordentown, she was a graduate of William MacFarland High School and retired after 23 years as the payroll clerk at the Bordentown Reformatory. She was a member of the Bordentown Elks #2085 Ladies Auxiliary, the VFW Post 5045 Ladies Auxiliary and the Bordentown Township Senior Citizens. Mary Jane enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and watching sports.
Daughter of the late Clarence and Florence Mae Kulp, sister of the late Florence Mae Walder, wife of the late William Ruffner and mother of the late Michael John Monkan, Mary Jane is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Jack and Regla Monkan of New Egypt; her beloved daughter, Susan Jane Monkan of Phoenix, AZ; her grandson, Matthew Monkan of West Chester, PA, as well as nieces, nephews great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Saturday, January 5th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10 am until time of service.
