Mary Mullen, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 16, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, at the age of 100. Born on December 24, 1909, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants Jack and Maria (Costantino) Crovetto, and sister of Julia Ball (deceased).
Mary was a co-salutatorian of Princeton High school class of 1927. During World War 2 she worked for the Maiden-Form company, making parachutes for the war effort. She later married Samuel Mullen (deceased) in 1948, and moved to a new house they built in Franklin Park, NJ, where she lived for 50 years. Mary spent most of that time as a homemaker, but also worked part time as a scorer for the Educational Testing Service, as well as a Democratic Party volunteer for John F. Kennedy's election.
She is survived by her son Tom Mullen and daughter-in-law Linda Mullen of Bordentown, NJ and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Saturday, July 24th 9:30 am at Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ, followed by a Mass at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Internment will follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill, NJ.
