Mary Veronica Downey , 101, passed away Wednesday November 8, 2023 at Laurel Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Mount Laurel, NJ. Born in Lowell, MA., Mary had worked as a nurse at Hudson Hospital before moving to South Brunswick and finally Chesterfield Township, NJ. Her family was very important to her, especially her pet pug Murphy.

Predeceased by her parents Albert Etchells and Mary Veronica Murray and her beloved husband George Downey, she is survived by her daughters: Patricia Downey of Bordentown, NJ and Maryann Barrett of Marlboro, MA. Her grandchildren: Richard Downey, William Barrett and Kerry Jean Williams and great grandchildren: Charlize Downey, Logan Downey and Alexis Barrett, Cerissa Williams and Tyler Williams.

Services for Mary will be private and at the convenience of the family.
