Marvin A. Van Hise, Sr., 93, of Lawrenceville, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016. Born in Allentown, Marvin was a 1941 graduate of Allentown High School and resided in Allentown for 80 years. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was a member of the Allentown Presbyterian Church for over 70 years. Marvin worked for Borden's Dairy for 15 years, the NJ Turnpike Authority, retired from NJ Motor Vehicle Commission and actively farmed in the area until 1968.

Son of the late Leonard R. and Abbie Van Hise he was predeceased in October by his beloved wife of 70 years, Edna M. Van Hise. Marvin is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Jr. and Lini Van Hise and Wayne and Yvonne Van Hise; his daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and John Frech and Diane and Gary Molnar; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Ford, Betty Ford and Catharine Ford; 12 grandchildren, Kevin, Aaron, Michele, Jackie, Kimberly, Kevin, Eric, Dean, Leslie, Dana, Lauren and Jeffrey; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 10am on Monday, November 21st at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Interment will follow in Allentown Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5pm and again Monday from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home.
