Marlene R. Clegg, 79, of Cream Ridge, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Serenity Hospice at RWJ Hamilton.  Born in Trenton, she resided in Cream Ridge for over 20 years and she was a graduate of Hamilton High West and was a waitress and bartender for various establishments over her 30-year career.   A member of the Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 Ladies Auxiliary, she volunteered at the Seeing Eye as part of their puppy raising program in Morristown. A true animal lover, she enjoyed eating and traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Daughter of the late Jack and Hazel Becker, she was predeceased by her fiancé, Walter "Bud" Podlesny, her brothers and sisters, Erma Boss, Mable LeJambre, Melvin Becker, Muriel Robbins, Anna May Decamp, Johnny Becker and Ernest Becker.

Marlene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Annette Clegg; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Gary Nisley; her nieces, Cathy LeJambre and Dottie Sexton; her grandsons, Doug Clegg and his wife, Kerry and Kyle Nisley; her great granddaughter, Angeline "Jeanie" Amelia Clegg, her dear friend, Beatrice Giambelluca and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 11th from 6 to 9pm and again Saturday, October 12th from 10 to 11 am, with a short service beginning at 11:00, at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 So. Main St., Allentown.  Burial will follow in Groveville Cemetery in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Seeing Eye , PO Box 375, Morristown, NJ 07963-0375
