Marjorie J. Nixon, 93, of Burlington, passed away Thursday, January 29th at the Masonic Home of New Jersey, Burlington. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she moved to Vincentown, NJ where she met and married her husband the late Raymond C. Nixon. They resided in Vincentown for most of her life before moving to the Masonic Home 7 years ago. Mrs. Nixon graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia and spent her early years as a homemaker raising her three sons. Later, she became a home health aid and retired after 20 years from the Moorestown Visiting Nursing Association. Mrs. Nixon was a Past Matron and life member of the Mount Holly Chapter #147 O.E.S. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Vincentown where she served as a Past Junior Warden and was very active with the Episcopal Church Women and the church choir. She also sang with the Leisuretown Singers.
Daughter of the late Harry V. Michel, Ellen S. Martin and her husband George Kiefer and wife of the late Raymond Clair Nixon; she is survived by three sons; Wayne C. Nixon and his wife Karen of Edgewater Park, Douglas R. Nixon and his wife Dorothy of Easton, PA and Barry G. Nixon of Mullica Hill; three grandchildren, Michael, Tammy and Kelly; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Hailey, Logan and Kelsey as well as one niece and two nephews.
Order of the Eastern Star service will be held 10 am Tuesday, February 3rd at the Masonic Home Chapel, 902 Jacksonville Rd. Burlington. Funeral service will begin immediately after. Interment will be held at the First Baptist Church of Vincentown Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 9am until the time of services. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made in Marjorie's name to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
