Marion M. Smith, 92, of Willingboro, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Marcella Center in Burlington. Born in Elizabeth, she was a member of the Allentown AME Church. While living in Martha's Vineyard, Marion assisted in the war effort by working as a riveter during WWII. She worked for several years as a Nurses Aid at Elizabeth General Hospital and later worked for several retailers, including Lane Bryant, as a buyer. Marion was an amazing cook who loved to play board games and was well known for her baking and homemade afghans.
Daughter of the late Robert and Charlotte Major, she was predeceased by her husband, William L. Smith, Sr. and her daughter Carol A. Smith. Marion is survived by three sons, William L. Smith, Jr and his wife, Pastor Cerita G. Smith, Robert A. Eaton and Lester Spady, Jr. and his wife Sanbanika Spady; eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral service will be held 11am on Friday, October 16th at the Union AME Church, 72 Church St., Allentown. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from10am until the time of service. Arrangements under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
