Obituary

Marion H. Bauer, 102, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Masonic Home of New Jersey in Burlington Township, NJ. Born in Allentown, NJ, she had lived in the Allentown area most of her life. She was a retired teacher having graduated from Trenton State College and had taught in Plainsboro, Allentown and Hamilton.

Marion was a member of the Allentown Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday School. Marion belonged to the "Villager's" of Allentown and was one of the founders of the Allentown Public Library.

Marion was predeceased by her husband of 74 years, Charles H. Bauer. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Leila Haverstraw and sister of the late Margaret Haverstraw.  Marion was also predeceased by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harry and Helen Bauer. She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law: Bruce and Denise Bauer of Jacobstown, her grandchildren: Susan Bauer of Charleston, SC and Hank Bauer and his wife Melanie of Dunn, NC. In addition Marion has a nephew, William Bauer and his wife Jacqueline of The Villages, FL and a niece Bonnie Schneider and her husband John of Evergreen, CO and several great nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Marion's name to the Allentown First Aid Squad, PO BOX 252, Allentown, NJ 08501.
