Marie J. Newman, 77, of Allentown, New Jersey passed away Friday at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Newark, Mrs. Newman most recently resided in Allentown. A graduate of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, in Newark, she attended Berkley Secretarial School and worked for Western Union. Mrs. Newman was a member of St. John's Church in Allentown and enjoyed traveling, golf and playing bridge.

Marie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arthur E. Newman; four children and their spouses, Deborah and Stephen Barberio of Columbus, Paul and Karen Newman of Tinton Falls, Gary and Rebecca Newman of Basking Ridge and Kevin and Danielle Newman of Acworth, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Sell and her husband Ryan, Andrea Barberio, Zachary, Stefanie, Benjamin, Patrick, Sarah, Jenna and Samuel Newman; her brother and sister-in-law, James and Jane Lacey of Bay Head as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday 10:30am at St. John's Church, 1282 Yardville Rd. Allentown. Internment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown.
