Maria L. Katona , 100, passed away peacefully on Monday January 20, 2025 at Avalon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Hamilton Township, NJ. She was born and raised in Hamilton Township, then resided in Bordentown Township with her husband of 65 years, Frank Katona. In her younger days she enjoyed tap dancing and acrobatics and even tap danced during intermissions at the local Trenton movie theater. Maria worked as an administrative assistant for Roebling Steel, as well as NJ Manufacturers Insurance Co.  She enjoyed walking, gardening, card games, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and movies. Upon the passing of her husband, Maria relocated to Colorado to live with her son, his wife and family where she enjoyed scenic mountain drives and visits from her extended family. She always emitted an air of elegance and loved her family, which was very important to her. She will be deeply missed.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank Katona, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Barry and Dolly Katona of Voorhees, NJ, her grandchildren: Ashlie (Dana) Briere, Daniel (Bianca) Katona and Michael Katona. Her great grandchildren: Amalia and Layla Briere, her close extended family and many dear friends.

Calling hours will be 11am to 1pm on Friday January 24 at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will be private and at a later date.
