Margaret "Peg" E. Karpowicz, 94, of Lakeland, FL, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, FL surrounded by loved ones. Born in Trenton, she was a graduate of Trenton High School and worked for ACME Markets in Mercerville, retiring after 29 years of employment. She was a former member of Hamilton Square Presbyterian Church for 50 years and had strong ties to her local community. After moving to Florida, she celebrated her faith with the Calvary Baptist Church in Lakeland. She was particularly committed to the Pathfinders group that supported adults with disabilities.
Peg loved to laugh, share meals with loved ones and celebrate her faith. She was full of life, love and spirit until her last breath.
Daughter of the late Elmer and Rebecca Pierce, she was predeceased by her husband, John Karpowicz and her son, John David Karpowicz. Peg is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Sulikowski of Lakeland, FL, her granddaughters, Tanya Sulikowski and her husband Bruce Taterka of Andover, NJ and Brianna Hudson and her husband Gabe of Friendsville, TX; her sister, Kathryn Mascherin of North Carolina, her daughter-in law Maryann Karpowicz of Cream Ridge, NJ as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many friends at Calvary Baptist Church in Lakeland and Florida Presbyterian Homes in Lakeland.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 3rd from 12:30-1:30pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown, NJ. A funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. If you would like to join via the virtual service, please contact a family member for the digital invitation. In lieu of flowers, Peg's loved ones are asking that memorial contributions be made in her name to the Community Food Bank of NJ . Peg would love to know that there is less hunger in the world because of her.
