Margaret Campbell MacKay Archibald, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Bordentown, NJ on May 2, 2019. Margaret was born in Scotland and worked there as a banker and teacher for several years. After immigrating to America in 1958, she joined Pilgrim Presbyterian Church in Trenton, which later merged with United Presbyterian Church in Yardville, where she was dedicated to serving the Lord. Margaret was a graduate of Jordanhill College in Scotland and of Trenton State College in Ewing. She taught for 17 years at three elementary schools - Lanning School in Ewing and Rowan and Kisthardt in Hamilton. Margaret enjoyed painting, writing poetry, playing scrabble, and spending time with her family and friends.
Margaret is predeceased by her husband John Gilbert Archibald and daughter Mona Archibald Green. She is survived by her daughter Lorna Archibald Colligan, grandchildren Heather Green, Sarina Hatton and her husband Michael, and Kyla Reciniello, great-granddaughters Michaela, Kylana, and Olivia, and sister Sarah "Mona" MacKay McGhee, as well as other beloved family members in Scotland.
A memorial service celebrating Margaret's life will be held at United Presbyterian Church in Yardville, NJ on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 3 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home of Bordentown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Presbyterian Memorial Fund.
