Lynn S. Parsons, 70, passed away Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in East Brunswick, NJ, she resided in East Windsor prior to moving to Allentown, NJ 14 years ago.
Lynn was a graduate of East Brunswick High School and Rutgers University with a degree in Sociology. She was a devoted and inspirational middle school teacher at Spotswood Memorial School for 25 years.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Patrick J. Parsons; her children and their spouses, son, Bryan and Nancy Bowers of Burlington, NJ, son, Shawn and Catherine Bowers of Howell, NJ, daughter, Shannon and Mario Rodas of Mount Olive, NJ, and daughter, Julie and Greg Gonzalez of East Windsor, NJ. She was a loving sister to Kenneth Shumski (wife Wendy Shumski) of Saylorsburg, PA and Robert Shumski. Her favorite role was being a grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Emma (16), Laura (14), Gaby (13), Meghan (10), Addison (9), Brandon (8), Katelyn (8), Hannah (8) and Skylar (5). Lynn was a favorite aunt to her nieces and nephews and a wonderful friend to all.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 12th from 6 to 9 pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St, Allentown, NJ. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Thursday, September 13 th at Fairview Cemetery, 456 Route 35, Red Bank, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Abramson Cancer Center at UPenn at giving.apps.upenn.edu .
