Obituary

Luella Friebe Smith, 90, passed away January 9, 2013 with her family by her side at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, New Jersey. Born and raised in Bay City, Michigan, she had lived in Titusville before moving to Columbus 27 years ago.

Luella graduated from Bay City Business College, and worked in a variety of administrative and bookkeeping positions.  In 1944, while working at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, she met Frank while he was on leave awaiting Naval deployment to the Pacific.  They were married in March 1945 in New Orleans.  She was a dedicated mother to her two daughters, returning to work when they were in high school.
