Obituary

Louise M. Yorke, 77, of Allentown, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020.  Born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, she grew up in Ardmore, PA and was a graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School.

Louise worked as a medical librarian for the Medical Center at Princeton for 38 years.  She was active in her community, serving as a Cub Scout den mother, a softball coach with the Allentown Little League and a religion teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  She also served as a Police Matron, volunteered for the Allentown Crime Watch and taught CPR classes at Princeton Hospital.  Louise was a fan of the poets, Kahlil Gibran and Ashley Montagu and in her spare time she enjoyed writing poetry and wrote the following lines:

"A pine box is just another prison
Scatter the ashes from a mountain
Scatter them over the sea
Maybe then - the spirit will run free."

and

"Clinging little arms about me
all the love in the world surrounds me
In my sleepy little boy."

Predeceased by her parents, Serafina and Lou Filopanti, Louise is survived by her three sons, John, Michael and Peter Yorke; her grandchildren, John, Braden, Samantha and Cooper Yorke; her sister, Jeanette Filopanti; her niece, Amy Bressler and family; nephew, Matt Ziegler and family and her life-long best friend, Pat Marks and family.

Services will be private under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to St. John's Catholic Church in Allentown, NJ.
