Lorraine Schmidt, 83, of Marietta, GA, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at Marietta Living Center after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Hoboken, NJ, on June 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Henry and Grace Miller. She resided in Brick, NJ for over 50 years before moving to Georgia. Lorraine worked at McGraw Hill in New York City and later retired from the NJ Natural Gas Company. She was the Confirmation Coordinator for Visitation Church Sunday School in Brick and was active with the V.F.W.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Schmidt. Lorraine is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joseph Schmidt and Peter and Sheila Schmidt of Marietta, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Mark Rawson of Westfield, MA, and Linda and Eric Ramirez of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by three grandchildren Elyssa, Brian and Sean

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday December 30th at Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main Street, Allentown, NJ. Funeral Service will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
