Leslie A. Baird, Sr., 84, of Allentown, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Schenectady, NY he was raised in Rutland, VT and resided in Allentown for many years. A proud US Airforce Captain, Leslie received his Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and went on to earn his Masters in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut. A member of St. John the Baptist Church in Allentown, he worked at various companies during his long career in chemistry and sales. Leslie was an avid golfer and his passion for golf led him to write and publish his book, Same Day Golf Swing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jean C. Baird; his son Les Baird of Allentown, New Jersey; his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Christopher Sharp of New York City and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Sharp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Friday, February 2nd at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 9:30-10:30 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
