Leopold L. "Leo" Otway
, 91, of Carlisle and formerly of Princeton, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018.
He was born on April 24, 1927 in Bronx, NY to the late George and Betty (Braun) Otway and was the widower of Ruth Virginia "Ginny" (Schilling) Otway to whom he had been married for 64 years. Leo honorably served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was the owner/operator of Leo's Rural Service in Princeton, NJ for nearly 50 years. Leo was a 33rd Degree Mason and was formerly the Most Worshipful Grand Master for the State of New Jersey. He loved flying and was fortunate enough to have his own plane. Leo enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and watching the New York Yankees.
He is survived by one son, Robert L. (wife Susan) Otway of Carlisle; one daughter, Barbara O. Rose of Carlisle; two grandsons, Rob (wife Mei) Rose of Dalian, China and James Rose of Carlisle; one greatgranddaughter, Reagan Rose, whom he loved dearly; and his niece and nephew, Jennifer and Skip and their families. In addition to his parents and his wife, Leo was preceded in death by his brother George Robert Otway.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Peppler Funeral Home located at 122 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown, New Jersey 08505. Burial will follow at the Kingston Cemetery in Kingston, NJ.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Leo to the Masonic Village at Burlington, 902 Jacksonville Rd, Burlington, NJ 08016.
