Leonore Kinter Mathews, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Capital Health at Fuld, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, she lived most of her life in Crosswicks and was a graduate of Hamilton High West. She was the Chesterfield Township Elementary School Board secretary for over twenty years and retired in 1987. Leonore was a member of the United Methodist Church of Crosswicks, the United Methodist Women and the Bordentown Chapter #257 OES. She served as the Historian for the Mercer Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was active with the Bordentown Area Chapter of Deborah Hospital. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian Kinter and sister of the late Thomas Jr and Bruce Kinter, she is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Leon; her son and daughter-in-law, Rand and Nancy Mathews of Wake Forest, NC; her two daughters and son-in-law, Heidi and John Harrison of Chester Springs, PA and Tammy and her companion, Thomas Dwier of Bordentown; 4 grandchildren, Joshua and Carly Harrison and Christopher and Kathryn Mathews; her sister, Elizabeth Robinson of Ellisdale; her brother, Ted Kinter of Lawrenceville; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Kinter of Holiday, FL as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11 am Thursday, May 30th at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown, NJ. Interment will follow in North Crosswicks Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening 6 to 9 pm and again Thursday morning 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Crosswicks, PO Box 303, Crosswicks, NJ 08515.
