Leo J. Kelly II, 74, of Cream Ridge, passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital in Browns Mills. Born in Perth Amboy, he was a long time Allentown resident before moving to Cream Ridge in 2000. Leo retired from the MacFarland School in Bordentown after 35 years as a devoted science teacher, where he impacted the lives of three generations of students. He also taught a G.E.D. program at Mercer County Community College and was a former football coach.
Son of the late Leo Sr. and Marie Kelly, he was predeceased by his sister, Marie T. Kelly. Leo is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louise; his children, Lisa Kelly and her partner, Mary Quigley of Morristown, Linette and her husband, Lloyd Oertel of West Windsor, Leo and his wife, Marcy Kelly of Phoenix, MD, Leonard Kelly of Allentown and Lucas and his wife, Katlyn Kelly of Bordentown; two brothers, Richard Kelly and Michael Kelly; nine grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, Rachel, Jessica, Erin, Elizabeth, Leo IV, Leonard and Juliet as well as nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Saturday, January 19th at Church of the Assumption, 28 Monmouth Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
