Obituary

Lena Mae Mitchell, 66, of East Windsor, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Freehold, she grew up in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. She resided in Allentown for many years where she and Johnny C. White raised their family. She loved her family dearly and doted on her grandchildren. She looked forward to their annual family trips to Ocean City.

Lena worked as a clinical assistant at Meadow Lakes in Hightstown for over 16 years and currently worked for Allentown School District, most recently at the High School. She loved her work at the school and loved the students, becoming an honorary grandmother to countless children over the past 20 years there.

Lena loved the Lord and was a woman of faith. She was a faithful member of Miracle Pentecostal Church of Deliverance in Trenton. She earned her Evangelist certification and dedicated her life to spreading the Word of the Lord to others.

Daughter of the late Eva "Cherrie" Lee Ivory Mitchell and Robert Mitchell, Lena was predeceased by two children, Faith and Lorenzo; her grandson, Ziaire; great grandson Harold IV "Kingy"; brothers, William and Jimmy; and sister, Mary Ann.

Lena leaves to cherish her memory her children, Tangie (Kyron), Denise (Tiwan), Antoinette, and Johnny Jr., (Luemisher), and her honorary children, James "Heffie," Samuel (Rosey), Shawnette, and Olivia; her grandchildren, Isis, Haneef, Hanifa, Julio, Angelena, Tariq, Keyron, Aneisha, Anthony Jr., Lanae, Johnny III (Brittanie), Janiqua, Bianca, Janeesha (Wander), Jazmine, James; honorary grandchildren, Destiny, Noor, Brian Jr., Sincere (I), and Sincere (II); her "grand-bestie" Mirian; great grandchildren, Messiah, Bailey, Violet, Amir, Lanaysia, Laiah, Lorenzo, Jae, Amaya, Ky'lee, Jayson, Jayden, Jannelle, Kairo, and Londyn; her Godchildren, Eric (Michelle), Kristina (Brian Sr.,), and Sidney (Keon); sisters, Joyce, Evangela, Annette, Teresa (Tom); brothers, Zampiyun (Kim), Anthony (Molly), Robert (Kim), Malik, Wyatt and Joey; special nieces, Patricia, Phyllis, Drusilla, Melissa and Yahmeira; special nephews, William "Gator," Shuntell and Andre; special cousin, Cheryl, and her sister-in-law, Anna Lee.

Lena was an angel to many and made true and lasting friendships. She leaves behind not only her best sister-friends Roberta "Robby" (Rich), Dorothy, and Sally, but many, many special "sister friends" who she loved dearly. (We couldn't possibly list everyone, but you know who you are!). She also leaves her church family at Miracle Pentecostal Church of Deliverance (Thanks for the ice, Little Norma); her Allentown school family (Pomptonian Food Service) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
