Lawrence P. Ventre, Sr., 69, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home. Born in Old Forge, PA; he resided in West Pittston, PA for many years before moving to Hamilton, NJ in 1964 and most recently Columbus, five years ago. A US Navy Veteran, he retired from the State of NJ, Department of Community Affairs in 2002 after 37 years of employment. Larry's passion was to play golf and he traveled to play on courses around the world.

Predeceased by his brother, Louis Ventre; he is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara Ventre; his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Jr. and Natalie Ventre of Columbus; a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bobby Schiavo; a brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Jeanne Ventre, all of Old Forge, PA; a sister-in-law and Goddaughter and her husband, Lisa and Michael Balonis of Harding, PA; a sister-in-law, Marie Ventre of Old Forge, PA as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held 5pm Wednesday, February 3rd at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St. Bordentown, NJ. Friends may call Wednesday from 2pm until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
