Lawrence C. Metzger, 52, tragically passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at his home in Springfield Township, NJ. Born in Trenton, he had lived in Hamilton, Springfield Twp., and Plainsboro before returning to Springfield 12 years ago. He was a graduate of Northern Burlington Regional High School and had worked as a Lead Consultant Engineer for Sprint/Nextel Communications. Larry was a volunteer fireman for over 20 years and was a past chief for Plainsboro Fire Dept. and a past president of the Springfield Township Fire Company. He was a Ham Radio Operator (N2GBK) licensed for Morse Code and operated Fire Service Communications, a ham radio repair shop in Ewing. Larry was also an avid classic car enthusiast, having owned four Pontiac GTO's. He was a member of the ""Old Goats Club"" of South Jersey and was a big Bruce Springsteen fan.

Larry is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Adrienne Metzger(nee Blummer) and his son Adam J. Metzger of Springfield Township, his son and daughter from a previous marriage, Lawrence C. Metzger Jr. of Trenton and Lauren P Bird and her husband James of East Windsor, his brother, Charles Metzger and his wife Lynda of Mansfield, his sister Linda Andre' of Hamilton Twp., two grandchildren, Taylor and James, his loving Aunt and Uncle, June and Jeff Dowd of Hamilton, his mother-in-law, Georgette Bothner of N. Fort Myers, FL, special niece, nephews, cousins, many friends and his previous wife Diane.

A Memorial Service Celebrating Larry's life will be Tuesday 11 am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Friends may call Monday evening 7 to 9 pm and again Tuesday morning 9 am until time of service, at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
