Obituary

Laura V. Smith, 91, of Burlington, died Friday, May 8th, at the Masonic Home in Burlington. Born in Trenton, she was a long time resident of Hamilton Township before moving to the Masonic Home. A graduate of Trenton High School, she retired in 1946 from RKO theaters as a secretary to start her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Catherine Cooper and a brother, Thomas H. Cooper. She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Smith. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Susan Smith of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, and a daughter and son-in-law, Jean Ann and Andrew Adams of Hamilton. She is also survived by a sister, Mabel O. Cooper, and a sister-in-law, Violet Cooney, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many good friends.

Laura enjoyed playing games of all kinds, and she also enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ, for many years with her family. Laura and Joe were 50 year members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Trenton, and members of the Happy Hearts Senior Citizens Club of Hamilton.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00, Thursday, May 14th, Masonic Home Chapel, follewed by internment at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation of NJ, 902 Jacksonville Rd., Burlington, NJ 08016.

Arrangements under the direction of the Masonic Home and Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.
