Laura E. Mitchell, 85, of East Windsor, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Wynwood at Forsgate in Monroe.  Born in Winthrop, NY to Rose Elizabeth Goyette and Thomas Allen White, Laura was a longtime resident of Dunellen, NJ before moving to East Windsor 6 years ago.  She was a member of Dunellen Presbyterian Church for over 43 years where she served as a Deacon and a soprano soloist in the choir.  Laura loved to sing and was a member of many community choir groups including the Piscataway Community Singers and Sweet Adelines.

Laura is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert L. Mitchell; her children and their spouses, Ronald E. and Marta Snyder of Elizabeth, Beverly M. and Richard Lovelace of Raleigh, NC, Robert J. and Karen Mitchell of East Windsor and Kimberly A. Mitchell of East Windsor; her grandchildren, Alex, Corey and Kristin Mitchell and Hilary and Diana Lovelace as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 7 ^th at 11 am at the Allentown Presbyterian Church, 20 High Street, Allentown.  Rev. Stephen Heinzel-Nelson will officiate.  Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.  Because of her love of animals, especially cats, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Ave., Plainfield, NJ 07063.
