Obituary

Kimberly Genevieve Greer, (Kim G.), was born in the month of May, to the late Arden (Edith) Greer and William (Daddy Boy) Greer, in Brooklyn New York, the youngest of their union. She spent a considerable part of her formative years in Montserrat, British West Indies, where she lived with her parents and brother Duane, who recently preceded her in death, and spent significant amounts of time with her paternal grandmother, cousins and other relatives, and established firm friendships which lasted her lifetime.

Kimberly attended various schools in Montserrat, and is remembered fondly by classmates and teachers, but she really bloomed educationally after her return to the U.S, leading to her graduation from American Senior High School in Miami, Florida, and subsequent pursuit of her goals at the Westchester Community College, on her return to New York. She aspired to help others and did so working in the Banking industry and for a time, with social programs which assisted vulnerable populations. She did so until life intervened in the worsening of medical issues which began in her childhood, and through the persons of her life partner Anthony and "her reason for living", her daughter Adiah.
Kimberly was known for her resilience, passion for life, determination to survive and succeed, her outspokenness, sense of humor despite major hardships, her generous and supportive nature. She had a gift for staying connected, a zest for cooking, a talent for event planning and interior decoration; her home came alive during the holidays, because she wanted to "create happy memories for my daughter, to remember me well."

Kimberly made her transition from this Earth on February 14th, 2022. She is survived by her daughter Adiah, her partner Anthony, her sisters Monica, Rhonie, and Marilyn; her brother Ronnie; Aunts, Uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins, numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Arden, father William, sister Stephanie, brother Duane, and nephew Tarik. She will be missed and will remain forever in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Kim, you tried hard, you gave it everything and more, despite all your challenges. You left too soon, but you're now among the stars; you will be missed more than any words could express, but you will remain in our hearts…until we meet again. RIP
