Kevin Joseph O’Boyle, 69, of Hamilton, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Born in Orange, NJ, Kevin was a proud graduate of Our Lady of the Valley High School. Kevin was a lifelong learner with a relentless thirst for knowledge. He was a “Pirate” through and through, dedicating years to his education at Seton Hall University, eventually earning five degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, an MBA, a Master of Divinity, a Master of Theology, and a Juris Doctor - a testament to his multifaceted mind and heart.
Kevin enjoyed a distinguished career as the Vice President of Product Development for Munich Reinsurance America. Following his retirement, he continued to share his expertise as a Product Development and Management Consultant.
A dedicated community leader, Kevin’s commitment to Scouting spanned his entire life. An Eagle Scout himself, he served as a scout leader, committee member, and chartered organization representative for Pack and Troop 38. His faith was the cornerstone of his life; ordained as a Deacon in 2003, he served the parish of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony with devotion. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Diocese of Trenton Catholic Committee on Scouting (DOTCCS) Retreat Staff. Those who knew him understood that his greatest hardship in recent months was his inability to minister to and help others.
Kevin’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was predeceased by his parents, Marilyn and Frederick M. O’Boyle; his siblings, Frederick Martin Jr., Maureen, Lisa Anne, Timothy, and Dennis O’Boyle; and his father-in-law, William M. Spekhardt.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Beth O’Boyle; his four sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Anne Marie, Matthew and Sonia, James and Kimberly, and Peter O’Boyle; and his cherished grandchildren, Connor, Keegan, Braden, Aurora, and Jack.
He also leaves behind his sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Mark Fallon and Marykim and Kevin Keane; his mother-in-law, Phyllis Spekhardt; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kim O’Boyle, Kris O’Boyle, William and Maryann Spekhardt, Peg and Michael Frick, Michael and Mary Pat Spekhardt, Irene and Jeremy Greenman, and Maureen and James Hansen. Kevin is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State St. Ext. Hamilton, NJ 08619 on Monday, April 20th from 4pm to 8pm with a Rite of Reception beginning at 4pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Tuesday, April 21st at 11am.
A private burial will be held in St. Teresa’s Cemetery located at 136 Passaic Avenue, Summit, New Jersey 07901 following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kevin’s name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at www.cff.org
Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.
