Kathryn Virginia Lacy Wake
Kathryn Virginia Lacy Wake, 90 of Whiting, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Crestwood Manor in Whiting. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of Hamilton, NJ and Bass Harbor, Maine for most of her life before moving to Whiting in 2008. A graduate of Hamilton High West, Kathryn retired from the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey where she worked as a secretary. A former member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Trenton and St. John's Episcopal Church in Southwest Harbor, ME, more recently, she attended St. Stephen's Church in Whiting. Kathryn was a member of the Acadia Hiking Club and was an avid bridge player. Above all, she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Daughter of the late Howard and Kathryn Lacy, she was predeceased by her husband Frederick Wake; her sister, Ann Lacy and brother Richard Lacy. Kathryn is survived by her children and their spouses, Fred Wake of Hamilton, Kathryn and Robert Heyner of Lamoine, ME and Mary Ann and Barry Janes of Bordentown; her grandchildren, Marissa Esposito, Michael Esposito, Katie Peterson and her husband Tim and Matt Heyner and his wife and Lucy; her great grandchildren, Angelo Costello and Kathryn Peterson; her sister-in-law, Frances Wake of West Windsor, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held 10am Wednesday, November 11th at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 180 County Rd 539, Whiting. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
