Kathryn Dyjak Szczepanik, 99, passed away Sunday, March 21 at her home in Hightstown. Born in New Sharon, Kathryn was a resident of Monroe until she moved to the Borough of Hightstown 20 years ago. A graduate of Allentown High School, Trenton Normal School (now known as The College of New Jersey) and Columbia University, she was a former school teacher in Imlaystown and Washington Township. She was active in 4-H, the PTA, Anthonians and church choir and was the former owner of Hights Farm Equipment in Hightstown.
Predeceased by her husband, the Honorable Mayor of Monroe Twp Edward Szczepanik
and her sister Helen Adamec, Kathryn is survived by her children, Anne White of Hightstown, Edward Szczepanik of Cranbury, James Szczepanik of Monroe Township, Kathryn Lamping and son-in-law William Lamping of Plainsboro; brother Adam Dyjak of Palm Bay, FL; sister Ann Meshechek of Mooresville, NC; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews and companion, Helen.
Friends may call on Thursday March 25th 10 am at Peppler Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 11am, 114 So. Main St., Allentown. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Allentown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kathryn's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
