Obituary

Kathleen Monahan, 81 of Hamilton, died on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Hamilton. Born in Jersey City, NJ; she resided in Cream Ridge for 20 years prior to moving to Hamilton Square where she lived for 26 years. A graduate of St. Michael's High School in Jersey City, Kathleen later earned her associates degree as an adult learner from Mercer County Community College in Hamilton. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at various locations including The Katzenbach School for the Deaf in Ewing and Mercer County Community College.

Kathleen was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Allentown. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. John's Church and St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.

A lifelong volunteer, Kathleen was an active leader and member in The Villagers of Allentown; St. John's Altar Rosary Society & CCD teacher; Upper Freehold Elementary School PTA, Girl Scout Leader/Assistant Leader for Allentown Troops, and Certified Literacy Volunteer with Literacy Volunteers of America.

Later in life, she enjoyed travelling extensively with friends and family in the US as well as Ireland, England, and France.

Eldest daughter of the late Teresa and Michael Martin, she was predeceased by siblings Eleanor Hearut and Richard Martin. Kathleen is survived by her sister Regina Fusco, and three children: Joellynn Monahan, Jon Monahan, and Rory Monahan. Kathleen is also survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews, extended family, and many beloved friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am on Friday August, 20th at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1282 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Allentown, under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.  Those attending the service in person are requested by the family to wear a mask.  If you are unable to attend in person, services will be live streamed on YouTube at this link: Funeral Mass

Burial will be private at a later date.
