Karl J. Brodtman, 71, of Chesterfield, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly, with his family by his side. Born in New Orleans, LA he resided in Chesterfield for the last 39 years. He received a bachelor's degree from LSU and retired in 2005 from the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation as a Project Engineer. Karl was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Bordentown. His family was very important to him and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Brodtman (nee Folse); three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Marybeth Brodtman of Tabernacle, Michael and Debbie Brodtman of Mansfield Twp. and Karl Brodtman III of Trenton; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Chuck Trogdan of Bordentown Twp; a sister, Lynne Pourciau and her husband Robert of Harvey, LA and six grandchildren, Lauren, Rebecca, Leea, Olivia, Matthew and Michael.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Friday, January 29, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, 45 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Interment will follow in Bordentown Cemetery, Bordentown Twp. A viewing will be held 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St, Bordentown. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053 or to the Chesterfield Rescue Squad.
